Save our Sharks – by
supporting shark research

Undersea Explorer’s Shark project involves tagging and tracking Grey
Whalers, Whitetip Reef Sharks, and Tiger Sharks in an effort to better
understand their behaviour and ultimately to protect these apex species.
Our research helps scientists understand shark populations, their home
range and breeding areas, and growth rates.
Your donation will be directly used to purchase equipment necessary for
the ongoing monitoring of shark populations at Osprey Reef and Raine
Island Reef. Following are price indications for scientific equipment,
however, any small or large donation is gratefully accepted.
- Microchip Tags (identification of
sharks) $500
- Ultrasonic Pingers (tracking of
individual) $2,000
- Underwater Dataloggers (tracking
of population) $5,000
- Satellite Tags (Tiger Shark
tracking) $5,000
As Undersea Explorer is a
commercial and “for-profit” enterprise, donations are not tax
deductible.
When you make a donation you will be emailed a
receipt.
Rest assured your donations are going directly to valid and
valuable research.
